I decided to clear out my craft room, so I could really focus on what I like doing best. Painting, sewing and drawing.

I used to do crafts and sell at craft shows with my friend, but I decided I rather sell things online, that keep loading up my car with boxes, setup tables, and spend countless weekends away from my family. So, I made the decision to get rid of all my leftovers, they were taking up space in tubs and I wanted a more professional looking studio.

My hubby helped me load up boxes of crafts, and supplies etc and take them to the dump. Now at our dump we have one building that they call the "re-use" area. So, some of the employees there helped me unload the truck.

To my surprise, there were a handful of people ready to peek into any of these boxes, which was fine by me. I told them there were many craft supplies, that were opened but still usable. Before I knew it, the boxes we were unloading were ending up in the trunks of these other cars. It was like a swap meet!

One guy told me, he groups things like this together, on the floor, takes pictures, and sells them online with EBay, and many other free ad services, and supplements his pension. Even if the craft supplies packages are opened, he still manages to sell them.

So, before you clear out your craft room, why not consider doing the same? Group like objects maybe or just offer a box of assorted craft supplies for cheap. He got it for free, so to him anything was a good price.

The saying "One mans junk is another mans treasure" is definitely true!

Sell Cross Stitch Patterns Online

It is fall here, and there have been plenty of garage sales around my neighborhood.

Everyone is having a good clean out, and this can be to your advantage. After checking completed sales on EBay, I have found that cross stitch patterns, and other needlework patterns to be a good seller.

Garage sales are a good place to check for these. I found a box full of them, for two dollars!

I grouped them together "like with like" for themes, and then listed them, and have done well.

While you are at the garage sales, take a look around, and make notes of things you see for sale. If you don't want to drag too much junk home, just make a mental note to check online for "completed sales" on EBay to see if the items sells or not.

You do this by using the advanced search button, and use your keyword, and check off completed sales.

Another great place to check is "re-use" part of the dump, but be careful you don't get caught up in all the good deals and bring them all home. I like any pattern that is cheap to mail, it saves on too much packaging.. Have fun!

If you have some great family recipes, and you can type, then type them, and copy them to a CD to sell... CD's are a great way to sell your "family recipe book" and are easy to mail. You can purchase blank CD's in bulk. Or type your recipes onto nice paper and drop in the mail, for customers who don't use a computer.

You can sell online with Ebay, or various free ad networks that won't cost you a dime, such as Free Classifieds from USfreeads!

Ebay will charge you a listing fee, but it is very small depending on your starting cost. I try to list for a few dollars each or less, and sold many copies, which was great for extra cash. Many people who love to shop online, don't think twice about a dollar or two, compared to higher cost products and I have made way more money with smaller items for less, that I could sell over and over again!

But another great way to expand on this, is with the Public Domain! this is where you can find recipes, crafts and more that are out of copyright, and therefore you are able to use in their original form.

I had good luck with vintage crochet patterns, especially for vintage purses and things that are making a comeback. I found these in the Public Domain. I would advertise the pattern on Ebay, or Free Classifieds from USfreeads! and then print it on nice paper and mail it, or put it on a CD, either way it was easy to mail, and I could sell the pattern over and over again!

You have to be careful navigating the Public Domain, and this product which I use, was the best investment I made.
